Hey All: Thought I would share a couple of poems I wrote on the blog here. Enjoy!!

HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS

Ascending towards the heavens along a mountainous plain,
I glance skyward at the sun and clouds hoping for no rain,
I slowly stop to overlook the distant scene,
While hearing the whispering winds call,
And watch as the sun's rays gleam.
Suddenly I spot an eagle take its flight,
As it spreads its glorious wings and flies with a strong might.
I walk slowly again clearing my mind,
While watching as the trees and mountains combine.
As I reach the mountain's peak,
I come upon the silent brook that I was hoping to seek.
I quickly drop my heavy hiking gear,
As I glance upon the water which appears like a mirror or glass,
Which is very clear.
As I remove my boots and climb into the icy pool,
I use the rocks for balance as stepping stools.
I take a deep breath and sigh,
As the pains of my sore feet subside.
While the peaceful afternoon goes quickly by,
And the mellow sun starts to set low,
I slowly pick up my gear and descend to the earth below.

THE WONDERFUL SUNSET

With the colors of orange, red, and yellow,
The sunset appears mellow.
It starts out very bright,
As it shows off its glowing light.
As it makes its descent down,
It brings darkness to the towns.
It shows off a soft glow,
As it sets very slow.
The sun appears as a ball of gold,
Which the sky will forever hold.
It is a wonderful sight to see.
And will forever be free.
